Narelle's recollection |

Our flat is fully furnished and equipped...it has everything from bed sheets to an electric food blender! The view from our loungeroom window is quite nice, and in the afternoon, the sun sets in our flat, which is great to keep us warm. We're on the fourth floor, though there are only 3 levels in our building. The ground level is part of the building next door... or something like that. The only way up and down is via the stairs so we get plenty of exercise as you can imagine! |
For us, living in Edinburgh is great. We have so much to do in the city, yet the beautiful Scottish Countryside is just a short drive away. We take regular weekend trips around and about Scotland, staying in Bed and Breakfasts and exploring the lochs and hills and little country towns. By far the best part of living in Scotland is being able to see Highland Cows. I love these cows!! I have postcards and photos, calendars and even a page on here dedicated to these wonderful animals. Summer in Scotland is jokingly described as a weekend in July. This isn't too far from the truth, though we have seen some really pretty sunny days. It makes you really appreciate the sunshine when it finally does come out. |
In June, when the summer is on its way and the days get longer, the Caledonian Brewery on Slateford Road (5 minutes walk from our flat) holds a Beer Festival. This is not to be missed! Sipping one of the many different beers, in the afternoon sunshine, with live bands in the background and lots of happy people with funny accents... well who wouldn't have fun!? |
